Which cleaning product for laminate?
For effectively cleaning laminate, there are specialist HG solutions such as the HG laminate cleaner, HG laminate cleaner shine restorer and HG laminate cleaner extra strong. These products are specifically developed for laminate and deliver streak-free cleaning, shine restoration and removal of stubborn dirt. In addition, there are some household solutions such as warm water with mild soap, vinegar or lemon juice, but these are less durable and effective than specially developed laminate cleaners from HG. For the best results, it is recommended to use products specifically designed for laminate and always test first on an inconspicuous area.
HG solutions for cleaning laminate
For regular cleaning of your laminate floor, there are several effective HG solutions:
- The HG laminate cleaner is a concentrated floor cleaner that cleans your floor without leaving streaks or building up shine. Dilute 50 ml in 5 litres of lukewarm water and mop the floor with a well-wrung mop. Do not rinse or re-mop afterwards.
- Would you like cleaning plus shine restoration? Choose the HG laminate cleaner shine restorer. This fresh-smelling floor cleaner is used in the same way as the standard cleaner.
For stubborn dirt, grease and protective coatings, the HG laminate cleaner extra strong is the answer. Use the product according to the instructions on the packaging, allow it to work briefly if required, then remove the loosened dirt and finish as directed.

Household solutions for cleaning laminate
For cleaning laminate, there are various household solutions worth trying. While these methods do not always deliver the best results and can sometimes carry risks, they may be worth trying if you prefer not to use specialist products. Here are some suggestions:
- Warm water with mild, pH-neutral soap such as washing-up liquid. Use a well-wrung mop to clean the laminate and dry with a clean cloth afterwards.
- A mixture of equal parts white vinegar and water. Apply with a spray bottle and wipe clean with a microfibre cloth. Note: vinegar can leave marks on some laminate types, so test first on an inconspicuous area.
- Diluted lemon juice solution. Mix the juice of one lemon with one litre of warm water and use this to mop your laminate. The acid in lemon juice helps remove dirt and stains, but excessive use can damage the laminate.
Remember that these solutions may not offer the durability and effectiveness of specially developed laminate cleaners. Use them sparingly and avoid excess moisture on your floor. For the best results, HG recommends using products specifically designed for laminate.
