  4. Leave the stain remover to soak for 10 to 15 minutes.
  5. Rub the fabric against the fabric and then rinse properly with warm water.
  6. Repeat the treatment if necessary and leave to soak longer, but do not let the liquid dry out.
  7. For smaller stains, put the fabric on an absorbent white surface, such as a white tissue for example.
  8. Dab it with a cloth drenched in the product and then rinse with warm water.

1. Hot water to remove resin from clothes

Be sure you only treat the stained area. Otherwise the garment will shrink. Bring some water close to the boil. Fill a cup and leave the stain to soak in the cup for a little while. Then use a sponge or a brush to remove the resin from the clothes. 

2. Remove resin in the freezerhow to remove pine resin from clothes

Put the garment in the freezer. Or put ice cubes on the stain. Wait until it has frozen. Now you can remove the resin stain by scraping it off with a knife. 

3. Remove resin stains on clothes with alcohol

Resin dissolves in alcohol. This method can also be used in combination with one of the others. Dip a cotton cloth in the rubbing alcohol and rub it over the resin. Then wash it to remove the resin.

4. Remove resin with washing-up liquid

Use an old toothbrush to rub washing-up liquid into the stain and leave it for half an hour. Then wash it at the highest possible temperature. The stain is still there? Do it again immediately before the garment dries.  

5. Resin with detergent and ammonia

Mix detergent with a spoonful of water to make a paste and apply it to the stain. Leave to absorb for 30 minutes. Then add a dash of ammonia to the stain and wash it at the highest possible temperature in the washing machine to remove the resin from the clothing.

 

How do I get resin out of white clothes?

You have resin on white clothes? You can use some stronger products to remove pine resin from clothes. For example, for the last two tips you could also use bleach to clean the garment. You can also use chlorine or acetone, or nail varnish remover. Make sure you do not get the chlorine on your hands.

For both ways you do the same to remove the resin. Dip a cotton bud in chlorine or acetone. Apply this to the resin stain. The stain should disappear after a while.
